Counselling and Psychotherapy for Individuals and Couples

Find space to understand yourself, improve your relationships and make meaningful changes.

I’m Lynn Usher, a qualified and accredited counsellor and psychotherapist. I work with individuals and couples who want to explore what’s happening in their lives, understand themselves and their relationships more deeply, and find a way forward.

I offer therapy predominantly online, so you can work with me wherever you’re based. I also have limited availability for face-to-face individual therapy and couples counselling in Newhaven, East Sussex.

How therapy can help

Sometimes life can feel difficult to navigate. You may be experiencing anxiety, relationship difficulties, stress or a sense that something needs to change. You might not know exactly what is troubling you, but you know you would like things to feel different.

Therapy offers a confidential space to pause, reflect and explore what matters to you.

Together, we can look at the patterns that may be affecting your life and relationships, develop a deeper understanding of yourself, and consider new ways of moving forward.

Individual therapy

Individual therapy gives you time and space to focus on yourself.

You may want support with a particular difficulty, or you may be looking for a better understanding of your feelings, experiences and relationships.

I offer a compassionate, non-judgemental space where you can explore what is happening in your life and work towards changes that feel right for you.

Couples and relationship therapy

Relationships can be rewarding, but they can also bring challenges.

You may feel stuck in recurring arguments, disconnected from one another, or unsure how to move forward. Perhaps you want to understand each other better or make changes to how you relate.

Couples therapy offers a space for both partners to explore what is happening in the relationship, understand different perspectives and work towards a healthier way of relating.

My approach

My roots are in Transactional Analysis (TA), an approach that can help us understand how we relate to ourselves and others.

I also draw on a range of counselling methods, adapting the work to your needs and what you want to explore.

I aim to offer compassion without judgement. At times, I may also gently challenge you or your thinking, where this could help you gain a new perspective.

Taking the first step

Starting therapy can feel like a big decision. You don’t need to have everything worked out before getting in touch.

If you’d like to explore whether working together might be helpful, you’re welcome to contact me or book an initial appointment.
